Versatile Pukekohe is owned by Wenny and Arean Lubbers.
Versatile Pukekohe has recently been sold to Wenny and Arean Lubbers, after being owned by David and Bridget Sutton for over 20 years.
Wenny has been the Operations Manager at Versatile Pukekohe since 2010 and is a qualified carpenter and has a Bachelor in Building Environment. Wenny worked in various Site Manager and Management positions in the Netherlands before moving to New Zealand in 2010. Building is Wenny’s passion and he has managed many projects from high-end new homes to commercial buildings in the Netherlands and in New Zealand. Wenny now brings that vast experience to Versatile Pukekohe.
Arean works as a Portfolio Manager at Barfoot and Thompson and helps with Versatile where needed. The knowledge that she has about the rental market helps when people are looking to build a potential investment home. She can provide guidance on what returns an investment can expect, and this works well.
Bridget has been retained as a Homes Consultant. She has over 20 years’ experience in sales and specialises in new home builds. Bridget really enjoys working with our customers to ensure they get the new home of their dreams.
Over the years, Versatile Pukekohe have completed many projects from solid farm buildings, garages, and sleepouts, to beautiful million-dollar homes. Their skills and passion have recently been acknowledged with a win at the Registered Master Builder House of the Year Awards for a custom designed one-bedroom cottage in the style of a traditional 1800’s villa.
The team at Versatile Pukekohe will go out of their way to ensure you receive a high-quality product, whilst making sure the process is fun and enjoyable for all involved.
"I want to have a big shout out to Pukekohe Versatile for all their help through our building journey. They took on our problems and made them easy. They were truly amazing!!"
"Absolutely stoked with whole process and have made a recommendation to a friend who's also building with Versatile now"
Versatile really shone through!
"Versatile really shone through when dealing with the Council. They used plenty of horsepower to get the consents through in spite of numerous roadblocks from the Council. Thank you."
"I am extremely happy with my house. It’s worked out better than I ever expected and it exactly meets my needs for a comfortable retirement home. I am very happy with the design. There is nothing I would like to change."
Robert and Wenny were instrumental to the success of our build
"We would like to thank Versatile, in particular, Robert and Wenny for the time and effort they put in to enable our new shed to become a reality.
Robert, when first approached went out of his way and offered several suggestions regarding the way the new shed could look. He ensured we were happy and that we both understood what the outcome would be.
Wenny was instrumental in ensuring the product and staff turned up on time, and everything ran to schedule. Wenny was double checking throughout the whole process and making sure that everything was on track. And the one thing we did appreciate was when they said the builders would be there on a particular date and time, they duly turned up on that day and at the time specified. The builders were very thorough in the way they worked, and they left the site tidy every evening.
We will indeed be approaching Versatile again. Well done to all. A big thank you."

"Thanks for making our ‘New Build’ a stress free experience with great communication. From start to finish the process ran smoothly and any questions or problems were dealt with fast. We are very happy with the finished product and that everything was completed to a high standard. We will be recommending you to anyone we know who is thinking about building."

"Robert (the sales consultant) was most helpful in the planning and design phase. Liaison with the council was good and the paperwork clear and easily understood. Eric (the contracts manager) kept in contact and clearly outlined the next phase and intended time. There were no surprises."
Damn good home
"We’ve been in our house a few months now and its fair to say this is a pretty damn good house! We spent the money and got exactly what we hoped for. Despite having recently completed what we thought was going to be our one and only build we ended up with a poorly executed build by an equally poor builder. We looked around and talked to a lot of builders but never really felt that our ideas fitted into their plans and they weren’t really listening to what we said. They wanted us to build their plan not ours. That was until we tried Versatile and having always associated them with sheds and colour steel we were pleasantly surprised when Bridget actually listened. She took notes and seemed to understand where we wanted to end up."

Exactly what we asked for!
"Versatile have built us a home that is exactly what we asked for - comfortable, warm and easy to live in. It is finished it to an excellent standard. Versatile provided constant information during the building process and attended to requests promptly. They delivered on schedule with no hidden costs. Wenny was a dream to deal with."
"I am very pleased with the service and end product."
Finished on budget and head of time!
"Having visited numerous show homes looking for a house that would suit our lifestyle block, we knew we didn't want small rooms, low ceilings and an inflexible design intended primarily for a subdivision. We chose Versatile because they said they could build what we wanted and they most certainly have.
Our brief was that the house should take in almost 360 degree views of the native bush and surrounding countryside, be light and airy and comfortable for one or two people yet still suitable for entertaining. We also wanted the house to blend in with the bush and surrounding farmland.
The budget had to be cut late in the design process but Versatile still managed to incorporate features such as the cathedral ceiling in the living area and the high ceilings and doors in the rest of the house, which all add to the houses light and airy feeling.
The end result is a much admired, comfortable home that exactly meets our brief. Added to that, it was finished on budget and ahead of time."
Building our dream with Versatile
"We recently built a small dwelling on our existing property, and with a friends recommendation, we contacted Versatile. I'm so glad we did. Versatile was incredibly easy to deal with but also, took the time to get to understand what my dream and vision was. They turned my impossible dreams into a reality. Getting the keys at the end, I walked through and it was just as I imagined. I am no architect, so them translating my dream into reality was not easy. But they got it, they took the time needed to understand it before they started the design process and throughout it as well. The actual build process was also smooth (though protracted due to Auckland Council and that we have a commercial property which means different rules). They were patient, went way beyond by helping us navigate the build and council process. They kept me informed throughout the process and the final result is exactly what I wanted and so much more. They even found a way to give me my dream of having an outdoor bath that is private – by building it under the deck.. My house became a ‘home’ the minute I received my keys, even before my furniture and décor arrived – and that’s because they visualised my dream and delivered it to the highest standards. I would highly recommend Versatile to anyone that wants to build a dream home that is unique but without the hassle and worries. Thanks team."

"Everything was 100% spot on. Fantastic communication and flexibility. We had a 10 week Concision panel build and everything was managed beautifully by Wenny Lubbers and Eric Miller. They were in constant communication with us and their team was very friendly and helpful to deal with. We knew exactly what was happening and when. Faultless.
Eric Miller the Project Manager was awesome. Any issues that arose were dealt with immediately and contingencies discussed with us. He was available 24/7 and sorted matters with suppliers, etc quickly. It was amazing how they managed to go under deadline and source everything they needed during a second Auckland Covid lockdown. We were in the house earlier than expected.
The Versatile Pukekohe team and their building contractors all worked together as a complete team. It was obvious they expected and delivered nothing but the best quality and the work throughout was faultless and timed to perfection. From slab to key in 10 weeks!!! The inclusion of 4 skylights and a large ranch slider was a touch of genius suggestion from Wenny (amongst the other great suggestions he had like the EVOAQ air filtration system) and we are so pleased we did it all. The finish is stunning and we have had so many compliments from friends and family. Eric was an awesome Project Manager and kept us informed and managed all the behind the scenes timing and issues faultlessly. What more can we say. Simply amazing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
