How It Works
We're with you every step of the way
Every client we work alongside is unique, and we tailor our approach accordingly. But there are some key steps that are common to every new home build.
1. Let's Chat
Every project starts with a conversation about your ideas and inspiration for your new home. We’ll discuss your wants and needs, chat about your budget, and even visit you onsite if necessary.
2. The Plan
We’ve spent decades learning how Kiwis love to live, and our range
of recommended ready-to-build homes reflects that vast knowledge. We’ll help you find the perfect design, personalise it to suit your needs, and produce a site plan, floor plan and elevations.
3. Estimated Costs
Once the plan design has been finalised (taking into account any changes you have made) we’ll present you with an estimated costing for your new home, based on a general scope of works, and fixtures and fittings. With your approval we can then progress to our pre-contract Short Form Agreement.
4. The Details
Time to get specific about everything from your tapware, to door handles, to the colour of the walls, including clarifying any engineering and/or speciality construction requirements. You’ll also meet your Colour Consultant/ Interior Designer, and your Kitchen Designer.
5. Contract
At this point we can now present you with a Master Builders contract price. The contract documentation also includes detailed final drawings of your new home and comprehensive specification sheets itemising all your chosen fixtures and fittings, and colours schemes.
6. Consent
With your approval we now seek building consent from your local council. Our team deal with building authorities on a daily basis, and will prepare and submit all working drawings and associated paperwork on your behalf.
7. Getting Started
Once consent has been granted it’s full-steam ahead! Your Project Manager will keep you informed throughout the build, walking you through the construction process and providing detailed timelines.
8. Taking Shape
At this stage you’ll start to see lots of activity! The floor will go down, the frames will go up, and the roof will go on. Exterior cladding and interior linings make the home watertight, while plumbing, painting and tiling also takes place.
9. Compliance
The carpet is laid, the lights are hung, and the finishing touches are made. Once everything’s clean and tidy we’ll arrange for the local council to complete their final inspection – the last step before they can issue the Code Compliance Certificate.
10. Welcome Home!
Once final payment is made we’ll meet you at your fabulous new home and present you with your keys and all of your warranty documentation. Of course, the relationship doesn’t end there – should you encounter any teething problems with your new home we’re never more than a phone call away.
