We shopped around “as you do” did some research on other companies that specialise in the building categories. My list had 4 companies which I made time to go and see and to find out what they can offer...well to my surprise a couple of places mention that Yes we can built the unit BUT I will have to do my own council permit(s)? (What’s up with that!!)
When I went to Versatile (They handled everything that including permit(s) to trades people ... How great is that!)
My decision as to why I selected Versatile is due to Quality, council permits, 25 year structural and being the most trusted builders over 30 years nationwide and most important stress free
Mid April 2011- Council permit approved (received a courtesy phone call from Graham with an update)
May 2011 – Building started to take place (excellent work Brendan the builder!!!) Again I received a courtesy call from Graham with an update.
June 2011 – Work in progress (Again I received a courtesy phone call from Graham with an update)
July 2011 – Certified trades people in and out working on the house ie plumber, etc (again I received a courtesy call from Graham)
In a nutshell, I can’t say enough about Graham and his team. The service that they provided is the absolute best. Always prompt, always professional and always proactive.
At the end of the day I don’t need to worry about anything... This is great peace of mind!!!

I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is considering building a garage or dwelling. Having had the experience of also building a granny flat from scratch, I can honesty say, it is a much smoother, easier process having someone else take over the designing, permitting and building process. My neighbours have shown great interest in the unit and two are keen to have Versatile construct similar buildings.

Dealings with Graham Welsh and his team
We engaged Graham’s services in August 2008, to get some progress with a build project we first started with a competitor some six months earlier. Graham’s team were almost the polar opposite of the previous builder’s attitude, in that they were engaged with our needs from the very beginning, and went out of their way to provide us with the home we wanted within the budget we had.
After a period of time, where Graham’s team very ably dealt with the somewhat convoluted council process, we were able to build. At this point, we began to appreciate the experience and professionalism that he would bring to the construction of our home. Graham’s choice of subcontractors was well chosen in each case, with the work being completed to spec and on time. To watch the progress his builders made each day was truly awe-inspiring; we could not have asked for a more dedicated builder.
We were consulted at each stage of the building process to ensure that decisions aligned with our needs and that the costs would be kept under control. Any minor issues that arose were dealt with promptly and very satisfactorily. Graham was able to accommodate changes mid-way through the build and even managed to reduce costs in the process. The end result was a home that was built to spec, on time and within budget – the exact same things our previous builder had proved unable to do. To that end, we are very grateful to Graham and his team.
We can happily give our recommendation of Graham’s skills and business ethic. We have the utmost confidence that anyone choosing his services will find him true to his word, and he will build them what they ask for, involving them in decisions to make sure that happens.
