Versatile Counties has been in business for close to two decades. Given the diversity of the region, the company is at home creating a range of buildings for rural and urban lifestyles.
The office is located in the heart of Pukekohe, servicing the entire Franklin district, the Papakura District and out to Clevedon. The franchise is owned and operated by Dave and Bridget Sutton and Wenny Lubbers who are Franklin residents and active supporters of equestrian sport and the local community.
Versatile Counties has a number of trade-qualified carpenters, many of whom have been with the company for many years. Additional access to a highly skilled base of subcontractors, makes Versatile Counties your obvious choice of builder. The company also employs two apprentices.

There were no surprises.
Robert (the sales consultant) was most helpful in the planning and design phase. Liaison with the council was good and the paperwork clear and easily understood. Eric (the contracts manager) kept in contact and clearly outlined the next phase and intended time. There were no surprises.

A pretty damn good house!
We’ve been in our house a few months now and its fair to say this is a pretty damn good house! We spent the money and got exactly what we hoped for. Despite having recently completed what we thought was going to be our one and only build we ended up with a poorly executed build by an equally poor builder. We looked around and talked to a lot of builders but never really felt that our ideas fitted into their plans and they weren’t really listening to what we said. They wanted us to build their plan not ours. That was until we tried Versatile and having always associated them with sheds and colour steel we were pleasantly surprised when Bridget actually listened. She took notes and seemed to understand where we wanted to end up. The first draught told us who was going to build our new house and with a little tweaking it wasn’t long before we had a design. It was so easy. We didn’t want something ordinary we wanted something a little bigger, something that made a statement and something that came with a superior level of comfort and appointment. We had an odd shaped section that was north facing and we wanted the full benefit of that. We certainly got that. It still surprises us today that whilst the process isn’t perfect we were involved all the way through and despite some small changes which were handled seamlessly the whole thing was fun and full of anticipation rather than anxious and fraught with disappointment.
The team that built our house saw us most days through the build which meant we saw things going together and the helpful advice from the team meant we made some really good choices on some things which we might not have otherwise been able to do. Jacqui really loves her shoe cupboard and her late addition of a fire has given us a very warm home for our cold Pokeno days. We had worked with the electricians before and like all the contractors we had dealings with they were all first class and the very few teething issues have been dealt with swiftly and professionally. It's especially pleasing that people walk past daily and stop and stare at our house and even more satisfying when people come to your door having seen the house wanting to know more. We wish we had asked Versatile the first time around to build our home.

Versatile Pukekohe will deliver you your dream home!
"After a three year battle with builders from hell, my husband and I were stuck with no home and no idea how we were going to get a toe into this crazy Auckland property market. Disheartened, we travelled for some ice cream down in Pokeno and couldn't believe the town that we saw. Immediately I started investigating and walked straight into the beautiful display home of Versatile and was greeted by the warm smile of Murray. Together, we made a dream come true and I can't believe how lucky we were to walk in when we did.
With Murray's guidance throughout the design process and the amazing Dianne and Brigit in the office constantly keeping us updated, we signed off the plans and our first home was underway. The builders/fitters/plumbers/electricians were incredible and I believe that is because Versatile only choose the best workers for their homes. They worked tirelessly under the ever watchful eye of Wenny and the final product was nothing short of perfection. There is always a golden ticket amongst every batch, and to us that was Wenny. He was always there for a chat and catch up whenever we needed and his eye for detail was immaculate. He truely made this whole process one of the best experiences ever.
Seven months after it started, we are now living in our gorgeous 4 bedroom home. Toasty and warm with all the comforts that we asked for plus many more we didn't even know were possible. The team at Versatile Pukekohe will make you feel like family and will deliver you your dream home. We love you guys forever, thank you for not only making our dream home, but for helping us start our life together.
Versatile are the best ever!
Versatile are the best ever, no matter they job they aim to please and make sure that they build to your exact needs. Even when some people change their minds so many times, they are always willing to help. The whole of the versatile team in Pukekohe were helpful, from the receptionist, sales rep, contract manger and builder. They were all awesome.
We are extremely pleased with the results and the service
Andrew in sales was excellent and went the extra mile to get things done the way we wanted. Design was changed a couple of times. Jason the builder was also very good and efficient. We are extremely pleased with the results and the service.

We would like to say thanks and how pleased we are with our garage - and the building process.
In particular (and in no order) we would like to say thank you to Sean for keeping in touch with us and ensuring that once the building got underway things went smoothly. We really appreciated his communication.
We would also like to thank the builders - They were very tidy and friendly as well as efficient.
Also thanks go to Dianne for supporting us with the payments and being flexible.
Thanks also go to Andrew, who got us underway, despite our problems with the CCCs.
We are both very pleased with the outcome - the garage matches the existing cottage and the basic plans were adapted to meet our particular needs.
We would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.

We would like to recommend Versatile homes as a highly reliable and dedicated team
During the year 2015 my husband Simon and I engaged with Versatile homes Pukekohe to build our first home in Hunua.
The site we had purchased was a section of my family farm and was very sentimental to us. It was also, however, not a straight forward piece of land as far as building a dwelling was concerned.
After approaching numerous housing companies and discussing our options with a number of builders we were starting to find that the undertaking of a building on this piece of land would prove quite difficult and it was unlikely we could afford to create the dream we had pictured.
Several well known housing companies had offered little support in ticking some essential boxes such as a floor plan that focused it's living areas on the northern side of the house. The land also had a number of restricting factors such as 3 boundary constraints and some difficult and potentially expensive geotechnical issues and the housing companies we were communicating with seemed unable to propose something to suit our unique site and continued to offer us solutions that were undesirable.
Simon and I were determined to find something or someone who could help us to achieve our vision.
At this point I discovered Versatile homes. I contacted the company and met Dave Sutton at our site. Dave arrived at the section and within minutes had walked onto the land and presented the vision that Simon and I ourselves both had. He assured us this vision could be brought to fruition and that it could be done within our budget restrictions.
From this first meeting through to the final finished product Versatile homes have proved that they deserve their company name - they really have been truly Versatile. We found the team to go above and beyond to help us reach the vision we had for our home.
Bridget and Wenny produced solutions to every problem posed by our boundary restrictions and geotechnical issues.
The dream has now been realized and both Simon and I are contemplating on a daily basis as to how lucky we are to now be living in our first home - a home that was once only a vision and a hope.
We have several friends who are in the building trade and they have all commented on the level of workmanship of our new house and on the quality of the build for the money we have spent.
Simon and I are thrilled with the end result and are already making plans for other buildings on the property such as a barn. Versatile homes will be our first contact for these future projects.
We would like to recommend Versatile homes as a highly reliable and dedicated team of people who are determined to ensure a quality product.
I would recommend your company to anyone thinking of building
I am writing this as a note of appreciation to you and your company for the lovely house you have built for me.
All of your builders and contractors were very friendly. John answered all my questions and concerns in a polite and reassuring manner. All the phone calls I made were answered or returned in a short period of time.
It was very pleasing to have the build finished in the time frame promised despite the very wet weather we had at the beginning.
I would recommend your company to anyone thinking of building. Also the hamper was a lovely unexpected surprise.
Thank you all.

Thanks all at Versatile Pukekohe
I’d like to take this time to thanks all at Versatile Pukekohe for the hassle free 19 weeks that it took to build our home in the middle of Winter. I think it took me more time before that to draw up the design and then get you to do the official drawings and get planning permission than to build our lovely home. Wenny kept things rolling and all the Sub-contractors i.e.. Concrete Layers, Builders, Plumbers, Electricians, Painters and Carpet layers got along like one big happy family. It made living on site and watching the building grow a really pleasurable experience. We were told when something was going to happen and it would happen right on time. We were really impressed with how every afternoon whom ever was here would clean our very wet and windy sight before they left. We have been recommending you to everyone and will continue to do so. Thanks so very much.

If I had to sum up our experience in one word, it would be easy.
Dear Wenny and Bridget,
I’d like to thank you again for building my family’s dream home in the new development, at Pokeno. We’ve been in our house now for eight weeks, and it still feels like a 5-star hotel - but we never have to check out!
I absolutely have no hesitation in recommending Versatile Pukekohe to friends, family and anyone who I meet. If I had to sum up our experience in one word, it would be easy. The communication was exceptional, we were informed of progress 100% of the time, the build was ahead of schedule and to budget.
The quality of the craftsmanship continues to impress us especially when looking at other new homes in Pokeno. This was also shown in our final valuation, which came back noting ‘superior’ when compared to similar houses in the area. It is obvious that you have solid relationships and work with great subcontractors. This is evident throughout the house but especially in the details around the brick work, kitchen, tile work and painting. I had the opportunity to meet several contractors onsite and was impressed with their professionalism, knowledge and dedication.
Our two year old daughter loves her bedroom with its purple walls, and every time we come down the Bombay hills she laughs and exclaims “new house!”.
We want to thank you again for building our dream home. It was a joy to work with you, Wenny and Bridget, and we look forward to spending many happy years in this wonderful place.

Thank you so much for all you have done
It is with great pleasure for us to write this testimonial letter to you.
From us walking into your showhome at Pokeno Village Estate one day for just having a look around, the friendliness shown by Bridget was just great.
After the initial talks about the ideas of how we would like to have our future house, Bridget spent the night cutting and pasting creating a drawing for us.
The willingness of going that extra mile showed us that we for sure had made the right choice of builders for our house.
During the time that we were dealing with Bridget we got also introduced to Wenny. Wenny as the Operations Manager is second to none.
During the building process there were progress updates and Wenny always showed us if all was going our way or if something needed to be changed. As per normal with any building project you will/can have slight problems along the way, well, these so called problems became in no time obsolete.
The standard of workmanship is of high quality and Wenny doesn't settle for less, meaning that he makes sure the house ends up as if he was the owner himself.
All in all we are extremely satisfied with the end result and know for sure that we will be living in a great house for many years to come.
Would we recommend Versatile Pukekohe to anyone? Bet you we will and already have done.
Thank you so much for all you have done.
Very satisfying considering some of the horror stories that you hear from the building industry!
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to express our sincere thanks for the service that you and the team from Versatile Pukekohe have provided to us during our garage building project.
This was our first experience in actually having a building built for us as we have always purchased properties that always seemed to have what we needed. The range of providers is rather daunting and I have to say that our first choice in selecting Versatile was the right decision.
John Griffin and his team have been excellent to deal with and John has always kept me up to date with progress on the building stages, and to this day I still do not know how those concrete trucks got past the house and the Phoenix palm. The progress of the build was amazing and the workmanship was to a very high standard. Please pass on my thanks to John and the team.
This experience has been very satisfying considering some of the horror stories that you hear from the building industry and I would have no problems in recommending Versatile to anyone wishing to embark on a building project.

Quality no hassle build!
We are extremely happy with the new House and Garage Versatile Homes and Buildings Pukekohe have just completed for us. Right from the start Bridget and the team were very helpful and knowledgeable in designing and building the house and garage to our exact requirements (Not a standard house layout and the Garage is bigger than the House) the build was completed in a very short period of time and we look forward to many years of trouble free living in the house
We have no hesitation in recommending Versatile to anyone who wants a quality no hassle build.
It soon became obvious that Versatile Pukekohe were number one!
After doing quite a bit of research it soon became obvious that Versatile Pukekohe were number one.
The team were very professional, polite and trustworthy. Right from the start the planning, communication was clear and up to date. There was an “open door” feeling and a part of the Versatile family was apparent.
No question left unanswered, all was very transparent and clear, every step of the way I was kept informed by Wenny the building manager, whose years of experience saw a very high quality finish to all building stages.
If I was to build again there would be no hesitation in getting Versatile to complete the project.
Thank you Pukekohe Versatile, you are a great team.
When I began the process of finding quotes for my single car garage, Pukekohe Versatile was by far the most competent and business like to deal with. Bridget has most helpful and kept the process going smoothly. It was pleasant working with a good listener as there were many non-standard requirements.
The garage was constructed on a slope which was a little difficult, but Versatile managed the situation well. I originally wanted the garage to be longer but to have done this would have clashed with the soffit of the house. Even with these aspects of the build, Versatile managed to get the garage close to the house, which is absolutely perfect.
The builders and contractors involved were very pleasant to have on site. The project management was exemplary. Throughout the entire process all of my questions were addressed, discussed and answered clearly.
The garage suits my needs perfectly and the first time I drove into my garage and closed the beautiful cedar door, my car and I did a little dance.
Thank you Pukekohe Versatile, you are a great team.
